Undercover’s Autumn Winter 2002-2003 collection “Witch’s Cell Division” is shaped from classic pop-culture, witch imagery, and robots. The two subcultures make an unlikely but fun-lovin pair in this collection, blending a darker color pallet with the whimsical imagery of robots. Transformers were a clear influence for the collection, which incorporates mutable aspects of these robots in each piece by adding unconventional fabrics to familiar silhouettes giving them a transmutable shape (silverleague). This was Undercover’s last collection presented as a show format in Tokyo.
